Tuberous Breast
Tuberous breast is a congenital condition arising during the development of the breast tissue, characterised by a conical or tube-like form. It is frequently accompanied by herniation of the nipple and the surrounding tissue. There are different degrees of tuberous breast: in some patients the change is mild, in others more pronounced.
Although many surgical techniques are described in the literature, every case of tuberous breast carries its own characteristics, so the treatment plan is always created individually. The general approach seeks a more balanced breast form through a combination of silicone implants and fat grafting.
In most cases an additional surgical step directed at the herniated nipple area is required; where advanced sagging accompanies the condition, a breast lift may also be included in the plan. Depending on the degree of the deformity, some patients may require more than one surgical stage.
